Welcome to the forum
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

Welcome to the TFF Bank ,Pelj54. Informative intro . . . thank you. I too used to fish the River Lea at Stonebridge Lock and Tottenham Hale, back in the 60's when I was a kid. Thought nothing of cycling from Wood Green with the rod tied to the cross-bar.

Welcome aboard Perry
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Re: Good Evening from Bethnal Green
Welcome Perry - I loved my ABU Cardinal - the tension screw on the back was just so smooth and I never remember a tangle. But eventually it got old and not repairable (apparently). I wonder if it is still possible to buy these reels? I've still got all my Mitchells, including the baby, But the Cardinal was best.
Trouble is, the fish just don't read the books......
