Funnily enough the late great Dick Walker put me onto a perch swim he fished just above the Lugg / Wye confluence and though I tried it several times I never succeeded in catching a stripey there.Pallenpool wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:17 am Welcome Sir, I too have fallen for the Wye and all it has to offer - such a charming and ever changing river through valley or meadow there is something quintessential about the Wye. I have a fair few relations in Hereford and into the Welsh borders. Fishing the Wye where it meets the Lug around Mordiford is one of my faves. I would imagine you have been all around this part.

Thank you JW - I have been very lucky to have had 40 years fishing the Wye - it really is an amazing river!

Welcome to the forum, Troydog.
That Venables has a lot to answer for, tempting us with the intoxicating `Mr Crabtree Goes Fishing.' Many of us here are addicted to the teachings of that book. I haven't fished the Wye, but I wish you continued success on a beautiful river. I too collect litter from river banks, in
the forlorn hope that the sight of pristine nature will eventually shame people into taking their rubbish home with them.

Troydog, you could ask Mark to set up your personal log section and then you can use that to record some of your stories and fishing trips with details and photos. Members are always interested in those types of posts and it's a great way to interact. They often go off topic and into interesting discussions. Hope that helps.
