A hearty welcome, Sir.

Hi John and welcome to the forum.
I used to frequent the Dove at the BMAA Marston Bridge stretch when I lived in Bretby - it was very tranquil and an excellent water for some beautiful Grayling and monster chub. The old Dove was good fun too.
A decade on I still miss fishing there.
Cheers
Steve

Welcome indeed to a fellow Derbyshire dangler! Your plan sounds good to me and if you need to acquire some kit suited to your needs then this is the ideal place to seek advice. The Redditch Vintage Tackle Fair would also be good for you to waggle a few rods, I believe its scheduled for 19th Nov.

Welcome to the TFF, John?
What else would one need, than a nice old cane rod and a centrepin ... sounds like a very good plan!
