Welcome to the forum take the bull by the horns and get that ferrule sorted. Plenty of good advice on the subject on here and if you can't find the answers just ask someone will be sure to help.

The top rod.. 'Sid', was built by me from 'new old stock' cane, which was already 15 yr old when bought 20 years ago, bit scared to use it to be honest. it has too much sentiment built into it.
As long as it catches fish, that's all that matters. The top rod does look good. You have some nice bits and pieces.
