My first cast with a pen
Hi everyone, Just an introduction to myself. I am a pleasure angler with no desire to match fish, go specimen hunting, or "bag up". I use tackle that I have made, restored or cobbled together. Often I go with a like minded friend who is very tolerant of my odd ball approach! An example of which is .........that I purchased at the tackle fair a very fine Hardy F.K.W. rod for a three figure price and at the same time a bundle of mis matched sections . After some fettling I made up a "bitsa" rod for about £2.Both have caught fish and given me pleasure however the first I have used once and the second about three times to date.! Eccentric...Yes......Contented definitely.

You will fit in perfectly. Eccentricities are mandatory. Welcome aboard.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Welcome to the pool,Tonkin.
As I recall your "Bitsa" is quite deadly. Makes we wonder sometimes though, why we ever spend vast amounts on rods, when some people can whip a fish out of a puddle with little more than a few bits of stick lashed together!
