Good evening members of the Forum,
My name is Graham and originally hail from the Midlands though I now reside in Somerset close to the levels.
My angling preference during the river season is to travel light, MK1V Avon, pin, net and creel searching for the chub that inhabit some of the very interesting and picturesque reaches of our Somerset rivers. I am also STILL seeking a forgotten lily covered tench pool tucked away on an old estate.
I mention the MK1V Avon as this has been my go-to rod for many years, I was lucky with this particular rod as it has a lovely steely action.
I have a modest collection of cane along with a similar collection of centre pin reels and I have a real passion for traditional landing nets which I know is fast becoming an obsession!!!
I am of the opinion that these finely crafted canes were made to be fished with and with care i try to alternate the use of both rods and reels where conditions and indeed size of the quarry allow.
I also have a slight obsession with the 'scribbings' of all things fishy as my groaning shelves will testify, i have a leaning towards BB, Yates and Sherringham.
Having dipped into the forum over the last few years i have found a wealth of knowlege and inspiration such that i intend to - with some assistance from your posts - attempt a restoration of 2 of my bruised 'sticks'.
Well Gentlemem, thats me and i look forward to sharing the forum with you.

Yes! and a warm welcome from me too Sir.
No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.

There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.
