Welcome Gateleaner, I also enjoy leaning on gates.

I'm a land agent and it's essential to be able to lean on gates and contemplate.
A timber field gate, a rolling vista and a suggestion of glistening water in the distance. Hard to beat when fishing is not an option. As good as lying back in a meadow and cloud watching on a summers day.

What a sociable bunch you are. Makes that sinking Sunday evening feeling go away.
Incidently the Shiraz effect has worn off. Although I just noticed another bottle winking at me. Maybe just .......
I fished the Wye for carp at Belmont in October - alas without success: but I shall return!
Ps - Save a glass of shiraz for me....

Hello everyone. New too.
The act of Gate Leaning comes naturally to one who practices the daily art form of 'How to be Free'. As a practicing 'Escapologist of the Daily Grind' I try as I might to bunk off to somewhere watery given just a sniff of opportunity. Amongst the obvious piscatorial delights there are lighting fires, skimming stones, catching falling leaves, whittling, staring out of the window, dreaming, doodling or taking a nap- all wonderful hobbies.
Snape- you cast baits, and no doubt spells into Greenbanks directly after me some 18 months ago.
St. John- I've met you- first time you were indeed practicing a good lean on a great gate- the gate to the pool.

Hello and welcome Idler. Yes indeed I followed you into Greenbanks 18 months but only for a couple of days and failed to catch. Gateleaner's brother cleaned up yet again!
