Edward Barder Catalogues

Post by Ljm183 »

Just dropped through the letterbox these Barder catalogues 1 a 1990 cat and the other i believe to be a 1994 cat.

These were an Ebay find that were listed as Catalogues by " Edward Barber "

I think the white one might be a bit earlier than that. I got my copy while I was a post-grad student and that would put it in the 92 – 94 era. The blue A5 version is the last printed one he did, as far as I'm aware. I have that one as well.

In the white version he lists a 10' sea trout rod – I've never seen one for sale and always wondered if he ever built more than one of them.

The 1990 one is a rarity as that is the year he started.
I believe back then the rods were £250!

I have the Limited edition No 2 Barbus Maximus (although bizarrely there are two rods with the No 2!) dated 1990 which I bought second hand in 1995 for £500.
That was a pretty good investment for the original owner.
