I have a nice blue bound version with the 1996 price list where all the rods are around £450 and Colin Whitehouse floats were £1.50 to £3.00 each

No idea why - perhaps it came with an early Waterlog?

Great to see this.
I would love one of his craftversa rods, I missed one last year at
Angling Auctions that went for £600. I was devastated.
If anyone knows of one or an original one for sale then please do
let me know. I have one on order from Mr A J Davis but still keep a glimmer
of hope that I'll find a Milwards or Barder one someday

Hi All
I have recently been turning out the loft and came across an Edward Barder catalogue dated 1990. I could have bought a Barbus Maximus rod then for £259!!!. If only I had the money then!. Could this be the first catalogue. I have one which is later as the rods are slightly dearer but it has no date on it. This is my first post on the forum and enjoy reading other posts.

Welcome to the forum Davejass.
Edward's company started in 1990 as before then he was employed by Hardy so you will have the first catalogue. I have never seen one so look after it as it may well have some value.

There's a nice section (page)on Colin Whitehouse floats and catapults innthe 1997 catalogue together with some lovely photos.
