EFGEECO Catalogues

Post by Deaf Cat » Wed Dec 05, 2012 2:29 pm

These finds clarify a couple of issues raised a while ago in the "Efgeeco rods" thread
http://traditionalfisherman.co.uk/viewt ... fgeeco+rod

1) No indication that Efgeeco sold course rods, cane or otherwise in 1965. However, in 1979, they were manufacturing or distributing built cane, glass and carbon fibre fly rods "designed or approved by John Goddard"
2) Confirmation that Fred J Taylor worked with them (Marketing Manager and Model!)
3) Confirmation that they sold Scandinavian (Norwegian) lures

The cover page of the 1965 price list - naming some members of the team

The 1969 Fly Fishing catalogue - including rods

Finally, a nice touch, the tackle shop stamp on the back of the 1965 catalogue is from

Youngs of Harrow
Fishing Tackle Specialists
78 Station Road, Harrow
Tel. HAR 0119
Duffer - The man without skill of hand, without good eyesight and no longer young - the man who really ought to fish!

That's just reminded me I still have a Paravan copper pike spoon I bought mail order from Efgeeco in (I think) the late 1960s.
