Ambidex refurbs
Hi Guys, here'sasome pics of an Ambidex 2fp and 4fp that I have recently refurbished.
Both have been completely dismantled, all internals cleaned of dirt and old grease, paint stripped to bare metal, re sprayed and reassembled using oil not grease. The reels now work beautifully with a satisfying whirring sound and a pleasing click from the ratchet mechanism.
I just have to find some new side plate screws to complete the project.
The colours are not original as I could not find the correct shade in a rattle can, so apologies to the purists out there. However we now have another pair of reels which will last another 50 years no doubt and they look great on my Octofloat and £30 junk shop find Lightcaster.!
I hope you enjoy looking at the pcs.
Jeremy.

Lovely work! I wouldn't worry about the colour not matching, they look great regardless! Well done...

Cracking job Jeremy. Unrecognisable from the reels you started out with!

Very nice! I actually prefer your color choice over the original! Bobby

Re: Ambidex refurbs
I think I have some better cover plate screws here and possibly an end blanking plug and screw for the unused side of the handle shaft. Off to the shed......

Nobby, that would be great! If you've got them let me know how much you want for them and how you would like payment. My fingers are crossed!
Best regards.

You've made a lovely job of those reels Jeremy and I agree with others about the colours, they look great. Very well done indeed.
