Inspired by this thread, I decided to recklessly splash out on a 1930s 4 inch Aerialite to pair up with a 1920s rod I have. Couldn't quite believe the price, I spent more on bait for the girlfriend and I last week. I have to say that the Bakelite has a lovely warm feel in the hand. Can't wait to give her a go now. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

I have a couple of these which continue to give great service.
I normally "T cut" them and then apply a drop of sewing macihne oil and they spin nicely.

The price of them seems to be creeping up!.....maybe I am just getting tighter with age
