I thought it may be of interest to some to see these figures comparing the 5, 3 piece, all split cane, Precision Rods bottom rods which I'm now privileged to be custodian of :-

Unnamed (christened “The Princess”) 10ft. 9in. 12.60 oz. (357 gr.). 19 1/2in handle. Taper 0.471in to 0.106in (11.96 – 2.69mm)

“R Sealey’s Tudor Supreme” 11ft. 12.60 oz. (357 gr.). 22in handle. “ 0.525in to 0.103in (13.34 – 2.62mm)

“Severn Perfection” 11ft. 12.70 oz. (360 gr.). 18in handle. “ 0.506in to 0.122in (12.85- 3.10mm)

“The Express” 11ft. 13.00 oz. (368 gr.). 18 3/4in handle. “ 0.513in to 0.103in (13.00- 2.62mm)

“R. Sealey’s Tudor Supreme.” 12ft. 19.00 oz. (538 gr.). 29 1/4in handle. “ 0.585in to 0.143in (14.86 - 3.64 mm)

nb. Handles measured from the top of the collar to the bottom of the button.

Tapers taken from as close to the top of the handle as I can get, and just under the tip guide whipping.

Note ... all but the 12ft 'Supreme' (which has been stripped to bare cane for rebuild) include the varnish.
