My R.Sealey 'Festival' now fully restored - photo heavy
Finally my R.Sealey 'Festival' is fully restored by Cane & Able
Before, during and after photo's
Cant wait to christen it on maybe a barbel or two
This is the only shot I have in it's before sorry state
Stripping the butt, note the Tom Watson retail label
The Precision black shield decal is 100% intact
All finished
The light is playing tricks, it looks like the whippings are different, but they do match

Lovely! Can't beat simple elegance.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Absolutely splendid, Sir. I'm delighted for you.

Nice job Pafpuff
Just done a bit of in the telephone directories and Tom Watson's have quite a history. The first entry is for 1937
22 Leenside until 1939
1940-1972 158 Canal Street
1973 the company name is changed to & sons and moves to 2 addresses
1973-1983 there is 198 Likestone rd & 1 Oak Street one was listed as retail and the other wholesale. So I assume this is when a third generation came into the business? The directories only go to 1984 and by then they are back to one address Carrington rd.
Now for the interesting part for your rod he added the & son in 1949 and in 1951 the phone number changed to 52771 so leaving a pretty narrow date for your rod. So I hope he didn't order to many of those labels,so if you find any with a hand written 5 in front of the telephone number we will know he did!

There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

Excellent detective work Harry, many thanks for that

Oh, my; that looked pretty good in the "before" shot, now it's just lovely.
Even the whole cane looks dark, was it all heat-treated? Anyhow, it looks as though it should have quite some power of persuasion. Very tasty.
