There seem to have been a number of different cane rods from MARCO. Often named after rivers or Roman gods? This is the list I have been able to piece together, are there any more?

Test 10'6, 11', 12' three piece split cane
Arun
Capella la Luce pike rod
Neptune 2 piece boat rod
Nymph 2 piece heavy rod
Medway, 3 piece split cane
Kia-ora 2 piece spinnning
Standard Carp 2 piece split cane
Brook 7' 2 piece cane fly rod
Slapton 8' boat rod
Vesta 9' two piece fly rod
Seaward boat rod
Ledger 3 piece split cane
Avon

I think there was also a Medway de-Luxe which might possibly have been hollow-built.

Those Kentish rod makers came up with some weird names; Kia Ora, Dal-Monte and Forty-fore.

Do you know which 10'6" model is most like a Test? I have a 10'6" Marco rod I thought was a Test but the handle is an inch or so longer and the butt section cane is a few mm thinner and the ferrules are just a tad smaller. It is lighter than my 10'6" Test but from a casual glance looks identical but only has the Marco logo. I was wondering if it could be another version of the Test such as an earlier or later version to the one I'm comparing it to!!?? What do you think??

Can't help, sorry...but I bet it's a nice rod. At 10'6" the Test the quite a substantial rod....a lighter one would be quite 'Lucky Strike' ish.

I wonder if it might be the Ledger my dad has just acquired? I'll try and get some more details from him

It may well be a ledger! It does have an agate lined tip with a screw hole in for quiver tips, but I assumed that was not original! If the tip ring is original then a ledger is a good possibility. The lenght of the handle is 55cm whereas a Test has a handle of 52cm (both being 10'6"). Regardless, 'tis a lovely rod and makes a nice float rod (better than the Test).

Update on the rod my dad purchased. Having got it home and inspected it. It is about 8' (so far shorter than he originally reported). I presume he put his glasses on, as rather than Ledger it says De Luxe. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as the varnish is apparently not that good. It does have agate lined eyes throughout. My guess being that it is either a ledger rod or a spinning rod.

I'm not sure the taper will be much use to you, but I will take the measurements if you want them

I am now the owner of a rod that is not on the list it is the Capella la Luce. A nice rod obviously designed for pike but also suitable for carp.
