Hi Paul,

I thought I should upload a picture now that I have placed the new rod ring intermediates you kindly provided. Hope you like it. The butt ring is from a very old "Danube Salmon" beast of a rod - one of the only two rings with still intact lining. The tip ring is original but needs a new inlay at some point too. But as I am using the rod with a 14lbs line that doesn't play a big role at the moment. I really like this rod. It is in pristine condition and the cane still has the same power in it as it most probably had when leaving the company. Why only have they stopped making such nice rods???
I hope it will master that big zander that I lost a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you again for providing the intermediate rings. They match up pretty well, don't they?

Edit: oops - picture

Great result, Chris! Looks like a rather strong rod.
Are going to do the lure fishing with a centrepin?

Having had a little spare time I was down my man cave to finish one of my project rods. This is by far my most used rod of the last year and most probably this year too. I use it 'drop-shot'-ing some lobs for perch and zander with great success. The handle cork (last 1 cm) was chipped a little so I replaced it and I made this brass butt cap pretty long ago. Thanks to Martin (Duebel) I got some cork for the repair. Now I got it done. Not the nicest job ever done but I am quite pleased with the result. It does perfectly suit the rod in my opinion.
Here's a picture and I will post more from the bank as soon as I got the chance:

I like that, maybe you could start selling those brass caps for a living.

Good to see the cork on such a beautiful rod! I'm glad I could help. Good luck with the big zander!

you mentioned dam ever ready reel and I am sure it is a center pin unless they used the name for a range of reels, nice looking rod though

'Ever ready' was used on a variety of tackle as the name intends. This is what I meant:

but there are ground reels pretty similar to a pin but not as free running because not intended for trotting but for ledgering.
