I'm sure if we all got together we could get Wal an award from HM for services to the preservation of historical angling artefacts....If they can dish awards out for running about, jumping a bit and generally prancing around in the Olympics and since, to people paid an awful lot for performing reasonably well in a sport they like, why not the unsung heroes?

I am happy to second all that has been extolled about Wal, an Artisan of exceptional talent. I am very fortunate to have a few rods (that I treasure) which Wal has restored to pristine condition. An ace guy.

I also had a 550 type rod from Wal,beautiful rod,very talented rod restorer :Hat:
I spend most of my life fishing the Rest i just waste

Yes, lovely rod. I have a 550 from Wal and its gorgeous. A craftsman is our Wal and an inspiration.
"Oh for want of rod and line I'd fish this stream serene, sublime".
