J B Walker Carp?
Hallo, I have a JB Walker (Newcastle) with 9'2'' - rings are chrome, the tip ring agate lined - I use it as a medium rod for stalking, sometimes even for spinning, it seems to me somehow like a nice, modest allrounder - AND I'd love to know what it was originally built for - here some pictures - thank you for any information

Re: J B Walker Carp?
Fishing for carp! It should be 10 '2" so might have been broken at the tip some time ago. The handle looks like that of my JB Walker kit rod (carp), nice and long.

Re: J B Walker Carp?
I think you might be confusing it with the J.B.Walker (Hythe) who liased with Dick Walker re: the MkIV. and marketed the carp rod for many years.

Re: J B Walker Carp?
I agree. It's partly because of the Newcastle heritage that I think this an equivalent version of an LRH or a J.S.Sharpe salmon spinning rod. If a MkIV were to loose 12" I think the net result would be a much thicker tip than this rod appears to have.

Re: J B Walker Carp?
So - is it 2 equal joints (possible salmon spinning rod) - or one long and one 12 inches shorter (possible broken 10ft cap/spinning rod) ???
A full picture would solved the question!

Re: J B Walker Carp?
Hallo and a big thank you for the different reactions - there are two equal joints - I'll make some photos of the rod in the following days - so most probabely a salmon rod.
