Colin I just loved reading that post, as usual the highest quality by Cane & Able, just wait till you see my roach pole Lee has done for me, can't wait to use it on the Beult fishing the pads and cabbages come June 16th. Looking forward to our get together in early June.

A very moving piece, and a rod beyond belief. May it bring you many Crucians!

Only just read this post what a fine rod I never had the chance to meet Jim but reading his posts and reading the lovely words people write about him and meeting people that knew him tells me what a great man he was
And also how much he is missed.

Re: Homer's (Remembering Gudgeon Jim)
I know i'll treasure the landing net hoop I got from him at one of the AGM's ,I recall having a laugh and chat about a pole with a hole he had .I recall telling him to write polo around it and make it a feature...i'm not sure but it might of been jim who called my home made reel bag a gimp mask for reels (it was a draw string bag made from a trouser leg off a pair of leatherette pants ,i'd made for my old 5" Stanton) ,he was defiantly there at the time when it was said as i'd given him either some floats or a 2" centrepin. he was a top bloke ,and that rod does him real justice .perfect
I try to be funny... but sometimes I merely look it! Steve
