Hello Everyone
I have received a couple of cane rods for payment from a friend who I did a small job for. This rod is 11'3" Whole cane in three sections, 2 at 53" and 1 the tip at 29". The handle is wood cladded with cork, which has started come off in places. Can anyone help with some kind of history and is the tip section its original length?
Any information would be much appreciated. Many thanks for your time.
Tony

I have had quite a few items of Gamages' tackle over the years, Youngs made reels for them, rebadged with the Gamages' stamp. I have no idea who made their rods for them but they were always of the finest quality. Your rod looks no exception.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
