Nice job there Nigel, well done and a nice piece of writing. Have you had a wiggle and worked out the line rating?

Thank you. Not yet, I think this rod was built for roll casting off the front of a drifting boat and dapping. It has a weird compound taper. Swelled butt and a reverse tapered mid section. I'm not convinced it was designed that way, probably just build tolerances. The Holdfast ferrules add weight in the middle of the rod which is unfortunate. It has a magic feel; lithe and steely :-) I'll let you know what it's like with a reel and line.
