Evert, that is brilliant. I see some nice refurbishment posts coming. Thanks!

Kind regards

Leigh
I use Humbrol Paint Leigh, for this reel high gloss finish, and yes i use some primer before the final paint. i removed all the paint from the reel. most of the time there is aluminum oxide under the layers of paint, it shows small bulbs in to the paint and must be removed otherwise the oxidation process goes on under the new paint. i paint the reels most off the time in tree layers, it will be stronger after that and let the paint dry for a few days before the next layer applied. sometimes i use blank scratch proof varnish to protect the paint and is acrylic varnish they use for floors. it works perfect. and i try to get the exact color for a reel what is difficult to make some times. i hope you can do something with this answer :-)

That's interesting, I see two castle nuts and no rear radial bearing.( Are they intended to lock against one another?) Was the Duco different to the Ambidex then?

Certainly the Delmatic was different to its contemporary Ambidex reels.
