A fine job, Sir. Well done !

That looks pristine! :Hat:
I like that you did not paint the handle!
How did you paint it?

I painted the Handle black, i like the black more. i stripped all paint off with paint stripper, polish all metal parts in and outside and clean all the parts from old grease and oil, put some anti corrosive primer on the blank metal and painted the reel by hand with a small soft brush in two layers metallic paint, finish it wit high gloss blank varnish . made some new decals and bring them on the shield and finished the decals with a layer off acrylic blank varnish to protect it.

It looks really good Evert. :Hat:

Are the rivets hard to get out and how do you go about it?

I have a few reels here which I would love to one day restore back to what they should look like but I'm put off by the fact I don't know how to remove the rivets and put them back together.

God never did make a more calm, quiet, innocent recreation than angling.

A very nice job indeed, the No. 3 has to be my favourite Ambidex reel, they are great to use.

The rivets are a problem, the small pins also some times so this time i leave the rivets in place. if you pull them out you damage the shield and it is hard to get them back. Other Ambidex reels have only the pins and get them out to put a thin blade under the shield and pop them out. you can also pop them out from the inside but gentle.
i am going to use this one too Mark :-)

Those side plates are lovely. Am I right in understanding you restored these by making transfers to put on them?

If so, I feel sure you could sell those as they really set a reel off nicely.

No, Fred, I don't do Facebook. It's caused far too many problems and I don't like its business ethic either.
