Hardy Exalta: help needed

Post by Bobby Marlene »

Dear Hardy and reel specialists, I need your help. I have a Exalta that looks and feels good but: the flyeror however it is called has exessive clearance. When I engage the anti reverse (block the spindle) the flyer still moves by 0,5 cm back and forth. Sorry, difficult to describe. Thanks for your help, Bobby

Hi Bobby.

Have you just acquired this reel or has this happened over time?
From your description it sounds like there is a complete bearing missing from the spindle.
Can you remove the cover plate and post a picture of the inside mechanism?

Thanks SAJ, I have just bought the reel. I am very busy at work currently. I will try to remove the plate next week and post a picture. Thanks, Bobby

There has to be something to lock the black arm and the rod that goes forward to the rotor together.( Top right in your image)

Is a circlip missing?
