New reel on its way
After some time i start working on a new reel for my self and like to try out something new for the back plate, made the parts for the spool on the lathe with the oak back plate, first i wanted a inlay with veneer but i remembered i have some glow in the dark powder left i used for a float tube some time a go.
i mixed up the powder with epoxy and bring it on the back side from the back plate where i made some space for a layer epoxy, let it dry for a week until it was hard enough to sand the epoxy to a nice and smooth surface. Made very small decals to cast in to the epoxy and will finish it in a high gloss layer. when that is done i will make a fish tale star back from brass to finish it the way i like. i know it is a long shot but the effect from the glow is very nice and think it is not done before
it will take some time to finish this one but if you like i post some pictures from time to time

You are an artist Evert. That's amazing!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Re: New reel on its way
Thanks gents
here is a little update from the back plate, it need time to dry up so will take some time to post new pictures
