The spring is late coming ... so I had time on my hands ... and a Dremel ... and I couldn't let those Mitchell chaps have all the fun ... and the finish on the reel was truly awful (is there a paint moth ???) when I got it ... and it was cheap enough to play with ... so here it is ... "Full Metal Merlin."
Not everyone's cup of tea, possibly, but it does look better than it did.

Did you know Mordex did a few with a 'Spitfire' type finish, only seen 2 or 3 over the years though.
