IFM Annual Sherry Evening, Monday October 3rd

INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES MANAGEMENT GREATER LONDON & S.E. BRANCH

ANNUAL SHERRY EVENING - FISHMONGERS’ HALL

Monday October 3rd - 7.30 pm

PC Simon Towers - Life as a Wildlife Cop

Apart from excellent wine and refreshments, this year we are delighted to have PC Simon Towers speaking to us about ‘Life as a Wildlife Cop’. With examples from his voluntary duties as Wildlife Crime Officer with Thames Valley Police, Simon will speak about a wide range of wildlife crime.

Using variously alarming and amusing real exhibits and case studies, Simon will explore the impact that wildlife crime has on our environment and how we combat it both practically and with forensic science. Covering issues such as poaching, hare-coursing, and badger-baiting as well as CITES and the trade in exotic flora, fauna and their derivatives, this promises to be a very interesting and entertaining talk.

Before the presentation, you will be able socialise with IFM members and other guests in this magnificent settings of Fishmonger’s hall over a glass or two of fine wines from Fishmongers’ own cellar and enjoy a select buffet. The Branch has generously subsidised the evening to restrict the cost to a nominal £10 per member or guest.

Please come along to enjoy what will be an illuminating and sociable evening.
