This probably was the Maple Leaf - dull red - available in the UK but made really for Canada.

I was very close to buying the 'blue' and the 'red' some years ago before they closed.

I cannot comment on the Magnum Blue, but have visited Dave Lewthwaite at his home twice, for help, advice and to replace a set of bearings.
What a real gentleman! He could not have been any more helpful and courteous. The only trouble was we were talking too loudly and were politely reminded by his wife to be quieter because we would wake up his toddler grand- daughter.

I met with a nice chap today who had connections with Lewtham engineering.
I bought from him his last 4 boxed unused Leeds Lewtham reels .
Whilst having good ling chat he showed me his own collection of Lewtham reels all unused . The single black reel is 5 1/5 inch and this one and the two wooden reels are for sale . If anyone is interested I can put you in touch .
