Hi all,
are there any users of half-bail arm reels out there? To this day I haven't seen one let alone used one. Whilst the advantages of full bail arm reels are very much obvious I wondered whether these reels could possibly bear any advantages over full bail arm reels - in a fishing situation.
Best regards
Stef

Re: Half bail arm reels
Although I normally use a centrepin for trotting I have a half bail Ambidex 2 that I have found to be the best of my fixed spool reels to trot with as I can reach the spool with my finger ( small hands ) and also push the bail arm over manually to avoid any slack line after a bite .

Re: Half bail arm reels
Thanks, Trevor. I thought about it as I have lost some fish from time to time when closing the bail arm by turning the reel handle. I might give it a try to trot the more sluggish rivers.
