Re: Bob Crouch
I had one of his early ones and it was pretty poor to be honest. Okay for margin fishing for barbel (which is all Fred ever did) but would need a pike bung on a flooded river to make it a trotter.
I bought a later one for my son - wide drum - and he uses it for barbel fishing. To be honest, if that's all you want one for they will last quite well.
They brought out a trotting version which I understand, was more up to the job. Not bad for the price but not as good as the original.

Re: Bob Crouch
I do have one - the original Match Aerial copy but a wide drum. There are better trotters and barbel reels - but a nice usable reel all the same.
He later produced the Truepin Trotter.

Re: Bob Crouch
Had a few over the years, some are ok others not.
They were all copies of the match aerial in some shape or form.
