Yes, I have one. I've had it for ages. I really ought to use it more but spend most of my time with a pin these days. It did take a fair bit of hammer. Maybe a restoration project for the winter. Certainly good in use, particularly as I have small hands.

They are notorious for going bent and not working well...they are a little tricky to fit as well. Here is the correct position:

A bit of grease on the pawl and cog and they go silent.

Nice reels and I have noticed that they retain a better second-hand interest than most of the 1.5 million made 300s.

I love using them spinning for perch!

It's a delightful reel for light float fishing. It was my first proper one, after the frustrations of the obligatory Intrepid Black Prince as one's `starter' reel. I bought it in France on a pen-pal exchange visit with extra money my parents had given me in case of an emergency (and seeing one in the window of a French tackle shop in Montlucon certainly qualified as one). Nowadays, I tend to use a Match Aerial for this kind of fishing, but the 308 is a very worthy alternative. I caught several personal bests with the 308 and could never part with it. Still in perfect working order after 45 years.
