Post by Danny Boy »

evening gents,
need a little help here,i have acquired a bernard and son extending landing net would be helpful for any info on them and if it s rare item ,I think it might be ,as far as I found out its circa early 1900 the main body is cane with brass fittings ,the inside pole is hex shaped wood with brass fitting which locks into the cane main body when extended

80" fully extended and 51" un-extended
the plaque on the base says "BERNARD & SON ,45 CHERMYN ST, Ct JAMES'S S.W"
just in case anyone dose not know Ct was the old way of what we now use St ,e.g St ives or St albans or St james

I think you may find it is 45, Jermyn St, which is in the area of St. James's SW which John Bernard & Son occupied between 1903 & 1926.

So did a Mr George Main from 1882 to 1901 :Hat:
