You'll not need anything bigger than 30" we've had some big old kippers in our Austin nets including pike of over 25lb, carp to 32lb and plenty of big barbel the biggest gong 14lb 1oz.....

Dave is a real gent, lives about ten miles from me in Maidstone, his nets are built to last.

Are you sure that you need a net bigger than 36 inches. Remember Ravioli was landed with a 36 inch net.

Hi Chris
When I first made the original post I'd not long made the transition from carp Eskimo and had always used a 42" net for my carp and pike fishing.
But as said above by Mr RBTraditional the net I now own should accommodate anything I'm likely to encounter.
I hope so anyways!!!
I'm very lucky to have some of the best fishing on the Thames not to far from me and the thing I love about the river is you never know what your going to hook as it has the potential to break all our freshwater species records in my opinion.
I might leave the big modern one in the van just in case then someone can leg it back if I hook a whale.
