As promised in my hello to the forum a photo of my newly finished net complete with common carp!!
Totally handmade by myself including the block, from laminated alloy. Was good to use it with my old Octofloat and Mitchell 301.Freelined bread flake was the method in the bright Devonshire sunshine..

That's a lovely thing indeed. Well done. :hat:
However, I would have preferred to see the fish lying fully on the grass or on an unhooking mat. :(

Mat issue aside, that's a lovely job, Sir. Perhaps an account of how you made it would be appreciated by more than just myself.

yes, very nice work. I have been thinking of building a new landing net head for a handle i made a few years ago so a description of how it was made would be good to point me in the right direction. I looked into building a replica 'Walker net' from the pictures in 'still-water angling' but found one with handle on eBay and never got round to it so my 2 piece 7' whole flamed cane handle has sat virtually unused

Seconded Snape
A beautiful carp in a lovely landing net :thumb: - but it really should be on thick grass as a minimum - or preferably on a an unhooking mat.
