Hhmm, I've had a fiddle with image size which seems to have helped.

Nice looking rod Steve, when will you christen it?

Hi Mem - I've still got a lot of varnish work to do yet but am hoping maybe in a few weeks it will be ready for an outing.

Thanks Paul - it's funny but in the picture the thread looks whiter than it does in the flesh. I'm pleased with the understated look it has.

Cheers
Steve

Next build is a Chapman 550/600 hybrid. They share the same butt - I have just whipped the butt section today and have built a 600 tip. I will be building a 550 tip in the future.

Here is the butt so far...

That looks really good, nice dark cane and I like your choice of silk too.

Finally got around to finishing off this rod which I believe to be a J B Walker kit S/U Mk 4 which I intend to use for my Pike Fishing.
Thanks to Watermole + for making the new winding check and also to Wal for the butt ring after I inadvertently trod on the original

I have been looking for an 8’ rod for a while that would be suitable for chubbing but to no avail , so while pottering about the other day came across a Marco Arun I had forgotten about , the tip was missing 6” and it required a lot of work so I cut a bit off here and there and carried out necessary repairs, I repaired the handle with prosseco corks and now have an 8’ Arun ready for chubbing
