All finished and ready to go

17ft Lea Roach Pole. 6 Piece (With Spare 1 piece tip section). All section have brass lined ferrules. But cap is inscribed with the makers name and address and the owners name and address on the opposite side. There is only 1 top hat stopper for the large section the one for the second section is missing.

Hi Lee I don't know if my input will help but here goes . My great, great, great grandfather Thomas Sowerbutts who is reconed to be the first Sowerbutts to make the roach pole he worked from an area of Spitalfields which came under the area of Shorditch , he died around 1861, there was a fire at his workshop and the business was moved to Blossom Terrace and from there to 151 Comercial St . He was the father to the first T H Sowerbutts and grandfather to the second T H Sowerbutts and also my great grandfather John who worked from his premises in Old Ford Road ,Bow . So your pole could date from when he was working around Shorditch . This might help .

Lee.

Edit; just found a photo with the Shoreditch address dated circa 1910
