Caught in Time DVD

Watched a good fishing film lately, why not talk about it in here.

Caught in Time DVD

Post by Mark »

Next to the “A Passion for Angling” series "Caught in Time" has to be the best Chris Yates DVD in my opinion.

Acclaimed author, broadcaster and fisherman Chris Yates joins award winning film maker and fisherman Hugh Miles as they share this attempt to re-invent the fishing diary. The camera capturing those moments in time that only ever happen once, the few successes and many failures.

See the link below for more details.

Does anybody know if there was ever a film made about CY's fishing exploits during the Autumn, Winter and Spring? There is a tantalising clip of a large perch being landed on the on the Summer programme and the commentary suggests that there is more to come.

"Part Two of Caught in Time to follow, when we have time to go fishing!"
which suggests there will be more

I'd love to think there will be.....but I'm not sure that Hugh or Chris have the time to finish what they started. These things take so long to do...

Caught in Time dates back to 2003, 9 years ago. I would love to see another part but somehow don't think we will.

That's a real shame - I'm probably in a minority, but I prefer 'Caught in Time' to APFA.

I'm pretty sure that last time I spoke with Chris he said there would not be any more in the series.

Hugh went on to do Catching the Impossible over the next five years or so - therefore it was obviously never continued.

I do really like caught in time and the footage of the capture of the 27lb carp from 'Jade Lake' is just superb

Wonderful stuff. Also like the captures in "The Secret Carp", those last couple of fish were stunning, and the fully scaled should help with anyones fear of landing them in weed!

I watched a video of Hugh Miles being interviewed a while back- it was on the internet but I can't find the link just now - and I got the impression there might not be any more caught in time. I don't think it was just a question of time, sadly, but rather about how narrow the profit margins are with this type of venture and how piracy and copy right violations reduce the incentive even further.

Even so, I sent a plea, and one lives in hope!
