Level playing field? The winner clearly had the advantage, I couldn't help but notice he had a proper rod and even a landing net!!

We could re-enact this on the canal at AshbyCut's . Mal could hand us each a Bernard Seally rod, he's got enough for one each! :laugh1:
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Who is going to organise the first TFF "Cane & Pin" match? I would enter even though I have not fished in a match for over 45 years. A suitable canal would give everybody a fair chance. How about you organising it Mal?

Now that is an idea, although I would have to soak my basket, it is getting a bit creaky, and loose.I wouldnt want an undue advantage by causing earache to other anglers.

Seriously, it would be quite a sight. Would flat caps or trilbys be compulsory ?

Leave it with me, Gentlemen All. For various reasons 2016 hasn't been a red letter year for me as far as angling goes (apart from a certain 'accidental' carp !!!) ... so I'm hoping that 2017 will be a new dawn for me.

(If it was to be on a canal I'd be assiduously checking the 'Waterway Wanderers" permits, of course !!! ;-) )

Well done Mal', I would not want to be turfing any forum members off the bank and confiscating their tackle for not having a permit. Come to think about it though it could be a good way of me getting some nice rods and reels for my collection !!!

John Harding

Either would be acceptable ... but Deerstalkers would warrant a 4oz. bonus !!! Oh ... and 'baseball caps' would elicit a 4oz. penalty !!! :Chuckle:
