I love this. Takes me right back and that rod looks just like the one I had around that time.

That lake was certainly popular.
I do remember the days of popular lakes being crowded with young anglers and getting swamped by people if you caught something decent .

Interesting abut the buzzer and the boy saying as he was legering he wouldn't know if he had a bite.
I would have thought he would have had a swing tip.

Nationwide - that takes me back.
Kind of like The One Show, but less vacuous.

Crumbs that's my childhood right there.
Looks very like a 12ft Sealey fibreglass float rod I had at the time.

To be honest it's like us all kids, back then in the 70's as a kid fishing, if we had the choice of using a state of the art Herron bite indicator or a swing tip I should think most would certainly wanna opt for the bite indicator, I know I would of done at that time :Thumb:
It's exactly the same with kids of today and mobiles :Chuckle:
