out of town

Post by NiceRoach »

Jack Hargreaves in an episode describes how he was in a gentleman's club/pub with snooker playing friends and they said they could break the ice the next morning, and catch fish? So, off he went filmed with a few mates on a freezing canal at the lock gates they smashed through the ice, and all caught some nice little roach. He had a brilliant line at one point where he said, the great thing about fishing in these conditions is when you drop your rod, at which time he'd dropped it whilst swinging in a fish, and it bounced and lay on the ice, - great old film.

I can very nearly remember it first time round, - i think :Thumb:

My wife bought me the boxed set for my birthday. I too was amazed at the ice fishing. However, I do remember doing something similar as a youngster. Fishing for pike in the only open part of a lake

Nice thing to have :Thumb:

So many fishing tales, including how he learned fly fishing by targetting Dace, which he did throughout his life because he says he couldn't afford the more expensive Trout waters when he was young.
