Hooks I use
After years of trying different hooks I have now finally settled on just two types of hook that I use for my style of fishing.
Drennan Specimen in sizes from 16 to 4 and Drennan Wide Gape Specialist in sizes 12 to 4.

Re: Hooks I use
They should last a while, I'm still using a few of those as well as ESP Raptor, Korda wide gape and some Kamasan for the 12,14,16 sizes

Re: Hooks I use
Well done Mark on sticking to just two hook types
I use exclusively Drennan hooks ( but have a stock of loose hooks and hooks to nylon of various types and makes bought in the past).
I mainly use the micro-barbed wide-gape Drennan ( mostly fishing for carp in weedy/ snaggy waters), but also use barbless on occasions (especially when expecting to catch any species of fish under 1lb in weight).

Re: Hooks I use
I've used Drennan hooks for years and years. I've tried others but have never found anything I like as much. I had a pack of some expensive carp hooks that a friend gave me to try as they were supposed to be super sharp and I thought they were dreadful – too brittle.

I also use the guru qm1 and fang twisters, I won't be buying hooks for a while (quiet Dave! )

Yep, I can see the benefit of that system Mark. I could possibly do the same or with PR 36...

Very nicely set out, - better watch Peter could pinch that idea for a hook box.
I use Kamasan exclusively which I think was, or is part of Drennan?

Re: Hooks I use
Excellent Mark, I too have settled on the Drennan Super Specialist both standard and wide gape but in all sizes.
In my endeavour to find *the* hook for me I have a box full to the brim of hook packets of different makes, sizes and styles. Eyed, spade ends, barbed, barbless, wide gape, standard gape, long shank, barbel hooks, carp hooks, silver fish/maggot hooks, Drennan, Korda, ESP, Raptor, whatever ... you name it!
I actually don't need to buy another hook in my lifetime if I steadily go through all of them as they're probably each as adequate as the next but somehow I still occasionally convince myself that I need to try something different.
'Hooked' is the word.

Yep, I use them from 12 to 4. Excellent hooks and a fair price.
