Hello gents,
not long ago I received one of these very traditional style tins with that traditional tackle picture on it. Thanks again to Leigh!
Today it came into my mind that they are still not lined inside to avoid the rattling noise that we all try to avoid. I first tried with some felt but the glue soaked through and the rest was everything else but pleasant. Then some leather popped into my mind and I gave that a go. Please have a look what came out:
Pleased by the end result I gave it another go with one of my other stainless steel variant. In that case I used some black leather.
Maybe I need to trim the rims a bit tomorrow when the glue dried but so far it looks quite nice doesn't it?
These two books will bee all I intend to carry when stalking and traveling light and they will fit perfectly into my Barbour Border jacket.

That looks really nice OT. Will stop the dreaded rattle a treat!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

I have avoided metal tins in the past because of the rattling problem and stuck to wood where felt does the job. I am going to try metal lined with leather as it seem to me to be a great idea.

Cool, even those self rattling shot spenders are cushioned very well now. Give it a try Chris, certainly worth a go. I used waterproof Gorilla glue to fixate the leather. A bit disgusting job but will last quite a while.

I have used old leather, thick pile lambswool in fact, to top & tail the inside of a plastic float tube to protect the paintwork from chipping.
