DIY Tackle Box

Winter has been long, and I do not ice fish, but needed something related to fishing to do. I started with a side top raw wood box used for smoked salmon, coated it in several layers of gun stock oil and lined the interior with woolen felt to help protect the painted floats and keep noise down. I'm very happy with the wood grain the oil brought out, as well as the waterproofness of the finish. Not vintage, but a old looking thing to keep my bits and bobs together.

Enjoy,

Jon

LOL yes, I had not noticed them before. My son's Endor Rebels are guarding the bar.

Lovely Jon. I like the illustration, have you drawn it?

Yep, like that. I have a similar cigar box, lined with felt and treated with teak oil. Spot on for our needs.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Thanks,
No the art work was on the box, part of why I selected it for conversion.

I love the upcycling idea! I'm always looking for bits and bobs that can be used for any angling purpose.

Well done, Jon!

Greetings from Bamberg
