Stools
No not that type, but the type for sitting on. I fish in a mobile manner for 99% of my fishing and I'm in need of something to sit on. Every chair I've tried has been too bulky so I'm considering a stool of some sort. I wanted to hear what others think. Maybe 3 Hazle rods with a leather of canvas seat?
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

Hovis, sit on your unhooking mat! A three legged stool will be a disaster on anything but the firmest ground.
Of course you could use a small wicker basket, mine has no legs so will sit flats, trouble is anything with legs will tip on uneven ground.

Re: Stools
Obviously the advantage of a tripod stool is using it on uneven ground, the only real disadvantage I`ve found, is the level of comfort to ones posterior. I decided on a conventional stool, but with a back rest, I bought the Shakespeare version*. When on reasonably flat ground, its nice having a back rest, but it folds down if not required.

Re: Stools
I always rather fancied one of these (with the addition of 'mud feet' of course !) ... but who would take the other end of the handles from Mrs. AC ???

Re: Stools
I use a folding stool for short trips.
My stool was £9.99 from Lidl (with a rucksack attached). It's pretty comfy and withstands my 17st.

There are 2 types of people in this world.... those that "get" fishing .... and those that don't
