Stools
Re: Stools
Quite unbelievably I've just managed to persuade matron to sit on my lap while I sat on my creel, combined weight 23 stone, wicker is bloody strong stuff, have you actually sat on one and broke it?Hovis wrote:I'd love a small creel but have yet to find one that will take 15st

Re: Stools
Sorry I'm still laughing from the thought of you two in the front room testing a creel, what would the neighbours think!Paul D wrote:Quite unbelievably I've just managed to persuade matron to sit on my lap while I sat on my creel, combined weight 23 stone, wicker is bloody strong stuff, have you actually sat on one and broke it?Hovis wrote:I'd love a small creel but have yet to find one that will take 15st
As of yet I've not broken one, serious creaking aside. However the size I want is a trout version and they always have a hole in the lid.
I have laid aside business, and gone a'fishing.

Re: Stools
Bait bucket or unhooking mat or the ground. If you need more than that then a lightweight modern fishing chair is probably the best option.
There is no peace on earth like the peace of fishing in the early mornings
Re: Stools
We laughed too, sod the neighbours!.. seriously, a while back someone on here had a few lovely creels for sale including a couple a trout size ones without holes, it may have been Rbtraditional ?? Honestly you won't squash one providing it's in reasonable condition.Hovis wrote:Sorry I'm still laughing from the thought of you two in the front room testing a creel, what would the neighbours think!Paul D wrote:Quite unbelievably I've just managed to persuade matron to sit on my lap while I sat on my creel, combined weight 23 stone, wicker is bloody strong stuff, have you actually sat on one and broke it?Hovis wrote:I'd love a small creel but have yet to find one that will take 15st

Re: Stools
I have numerous stools to sit on when fishing. But I one I use the most is a small compact and lightweight model I purchased it from China a couple of years ago.

The 3 leg stools are very comfortable but will sink in soft soil when you sit down, it depends were you intend on using it.

You can also get bigger types like the ones John Wilson used in go fishing with and without back rests. They are very comfortable also but are more bulky and weigh considerably more.

These are Ok as well but can be liable to tipping over if your not careful

I also have a couple of rucksack stools which are Ok as well.
Cheers MA

Re: Stools
I have a rucksack stool with a back rest now for my roving adventures. Before that I had a Korum roving chair but I found it to big and bulking for my needs, unless I was sitting in one spot, which defeated the purpose of it.

A few ideas here:

I've got the 'folding chair with rod rests'...it takes my 16 stone OK. It does rock on uneven ground, of course, but it's not a problem as I sit pretty still when fishing.

I have that little rucksack chair with the back rest called Deluxe close to the bottom of the page. Can't complain about it. I think Yates has one too...Nobby wrote:A few ideas here:
