Apologies I haven't reported back on this ... circumstance overtook me a bit ... but I will.

Funnily enough, Mrs DB and I were wandering through an antique shop a couple of weeks ago and saw one of these in a cabinet - what's that? My nearest and dearest asked and I was able to give chapter and verse.

I'm sure it was admiration I saw in her eyes as she wandered off to look at china...

It was a rocky step on the way to developing the quiver tip. I remember seeing them used on the Huntspill river many moons ago. Either that or it's off the dashboard of Thunderbird Two.

It seemed to have followed on from the target board used by swingtippers.

There was also a target board for quivertippers - usually on the reverse of the swing tip board.

One being an arc like 1/2 a clock face - the other being vertical lines.
