So this is what happens when you have some bits and bobs lying around.
In my case......

A piece of hazel,an odd set of ferrules,broken bank stick and a section of shhhhhhhhhhhh carbon composite rod.
.......and a wanabe artist.....stretching a point I think.

Superb messing! I do like a bit of hazel myself, lovely stuff to whittle with, I've made a few forks and spoons, a pair of rod rests and a few wading staffs. You could have bent a piece for the net head, perhaps a little ambitious. Thanks for showing us...

It 's a bit of a bodger job using what I had available.I am pleased how it turned out and it will certainly be used.I will cut a couple more suitable hazel sticks before Christmas and plan the next one with............a little more thought .
I really enjoyed making the handle and that adds to the joy when (if Iam lucky enough) to use it to net a prize !

I have seen some of the items Scott has made in some of his posts and they are beautiful , just like the artwork he produces.There are so many other members making fantastic items so they all inspire you to have a go whatever your level of skill.

I must admit I misconstrued the title of this post and wondered if I had strayed to a more risqué forum. Did Hazel really want to be messed with? A good title for another Laurie Lee sequel. Cider with Rosie..... messing with Hazel!
