Aluminium Floats?

Post by PershoreHarrier »

Some years ago I acquired a box of assorted tackle probably originally purchased in the 1960's / 70s. Amongst this were three floats all of similar pattern but of different lengths. I have never actually used them but they do appear to be of tubular alloy construction. Has anyone ever come across these as I have never seen anything like them - mind you I have lead a sheltered life so maybe they are very common after all.

I remember having a couple of those in the (possibly early) 1960's, if I remember correctly the ones I had were tubular aluminium, probably the same size as the smallest one in your photo. Sorry, I have no idea if they are common or not.

Think they are Palmer floats. There was also an aluminium float tube I believe.

Many thanks AndyB - there was also a Palmer disgorger in that box of bits and pieces that contained those floats. All I need to do now is find a Palmer Float Tube.
