Mold for Rudd

Post by Evert van der Plas »

i have a few wall plaques with fish on them and was wondering if i can make them the same way. i did not want to take the Rudd from the wood be course it could brake in pieces so i made wall round the fish with weatherstrip, put a thin layer Vaseline on the Rudd before i fill it up with 2 kilos of silicone, 32cm long, the plaster i used is very hard and after the first Rudd come out off the mold i was pleased with the result

You are a clever and talented fellow Evert!
You've done a smashing job with that.

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Sorry about the quality of the picture but I have a plaster/ceramic rudd which has been painted to look like brass Evert. I think it's quite effective and a lot easier than trying to match a rudd's natural colours

I know, you'll do it the hard way and make a brilliant job of it
