The Traditional Fisherman's Forum

I picked this up off the well known bidding site for a couple of quid. It shows some signs of being old such as, where the paint work has chipped. Apart from that it's in great condition, no rust etc.
Does any one know how old this is?
Also, how can I identify what metal it is? It feels like aluminium as it's rather easy to shape.

I have just checked my tins like this and all are magnetic, so mine are mild steel with a coating. So give it a Check with a magnet Joshluke
